Rain or wind in the forecast? That does not have to mean cancelling your day on the lake. Our half cabin runabout is the go-to choice for less-than-perfect weather — here is why.
The half cabin advantage. A half cabin runabout has an enclosed cabin area that provides genuine wind and rain protection. You are not sitting out in the open — you have a roof and windscreen between you and the elements. It is the most weather-protected boat in our hire fleet.
Up to 8 guests, fuel included. The half cabin runabout seats up to 8 people and all prices include fuel. A 2-hour hire is A$130, a 4-hour hire is A$180, and a full day is A$280. No boat licence required.
Why it works in the rain. Wallis Lake is calm and sheltered, which means even on a rainy day the water stays relatively flat. The half cabin keeps you dry while you cruise, fish or explore. You can still anchor, fish from the deck, and enjoy the lake — just with protection from the wind and rain that an open boat does not provide.
Open cabin option. We also offer an open cabin runabout if you prefer a more open feel but still want some weather protection. The open cabin is slightly cheaper — from A$120 for 2 hours.
What to bring on a rainy day. A waterproof jacket, a towel, and a change of clothes just in case. The cabin does most of the work, but being prepared makes the day more comfortable. The lake is beautiful in the rain — fewer boats, calm water, and a completely different atmosphere.
