Forster Weather Forecast
Check conditions before you head out on Wallis Lake — but read the note below first. The forecast often looks worse than reality here on the coast.
Why the forecast often looks worse than it is
Most weather apps and forecasts for our region are based on data from Taree, which sits inland at the foot of the Barrington Mountains. Taree gets more rain, more cloud and more extreme temperatures than Forster. Because Forster is right on the coast with the warm ocean current nearby, our actual weather is 9 out of 10 times much better than what the Taree-based forecast shows. Use the forecast as a loose guide — if it says a few showers, chances are it's clear and calm on Wallis Lake.

What different weather means for your booking
Sunny or partly cloudy
Perfect boating conditions. Wallis Lake is calm and sheltered, so even a breezy day is fine on the water. This is what most of your days here will look like.
Cloudy or light showers
Still a great day on the lake. A bit of cloud or a passing shower doesn't make it unsafe. The lake stays calm and you'll often have it to yourself. Standard cancellation terms apply if you choose not to go.
Heavy rain or strong winds
If conditions are genuinely unsafe — heavy rain, storms, strong winds or small craft warnings — we will contact you to offer a complimentary reschedule or full credit. Your safety comes first.
Unsure? Call us
We're on the water every day and know what conditions actually look like on the lake. If the forecast has you second-guessing, call us on 0488 879 818 — we'll give you an honest on-the-water assessment.
Don't Let the Forecast Put You Off
The Taree forecast rarely tells the full story. Conditions on Wallis Lake are usually better than you think — and we'll always look after you if it's genuinely unsafe.
